11/10/2022 0 Comments Hydro thunder hurricane pcUnless you run it on a early windows OS along with the specific 3DFX card, it really won't do you any good. The really cool thing about it was the fact that it operated a up to VERY high resolutions and looked MUCH nicer than the arcade counterpart. Dynamic water physics drives intense momentto-moment gameplay on ever-changing, water-based tracks. I TRIED to find someone who could "hack" it to unlock it so that it could be played with other graphics cards, but nobody seemed interested. With gorgeously Hydro Thunder Hurricane is an all new, adrenaline pumping sequel to the legendary Arcade hit Hydro Thunder This XBLA title is bigger, better and more beautiful than ever. Related to this, there WAS a VERY NICE port of San Francisco Rush: The Rock made for the PC, and it was available exclusively with a particular voodoo 3DFX board that I still have. I am unaware of any PC ports, but that would be the most likely way you could do what you are talking about, if one exists. So, while both of those ports were good, neither supported force feedback. It simply was not designed for it, and Microsoft took the position that the hardware simply "can't do it", although I am sure that someone COULD have come up with a clever way to implement it through a custom software/hardware solution. Unfortunately, NEITHER system supports force feedback steering, which is why there was NEVER a "force feedback" steering wheel of any kind sold for the original Xbox. The Xbox port, which shares a vaguely similar hardware profile to the original arcade hardware, was part of a reto compilation. Vector Unit, if you read this please know we all would love Hydro Hurricane too! I am thrilled and excited to play Riptide GP2 and just felt the need to type out some old memories and thoughts. The Dreamcast port was the first one released, and was actually pretty accurate. Hopefull we will see it, or someone can reverse engineer the arcade game of H2Overdrive (which runs on a modified version of windows from what ive seen in the arcade manual) and bring it home! Light on the PC settings, it just runs at whatever resolution your desktop is at, I think, but it plays well and looks as good as an upscaled 360 game should look at 60 fps. It's Hydro Thunder Hurricane and it runs fine. I will support it 100% but I am still dreaming of a proper Hydro release. It's not really GFWL, it's Windows 8 App store DRM. We already know they can deliver and I couln't be more excited about it. Ive been hoping for a PC port of any of any Hydro styled game for a long time, and im so thrilled to see GP2 here in my coming soon list! Vector Unit who was behind Hurricane knows exactly what they are doing here. Also, what an incredible game Hurricane is right? I couldnt get enough of that miltiplayer with friends online, except that jumpy Rad Hazard $#%^$#. Remember those old Midway guys are a part of Raw Thrills now. Microsoft said the list includes titles familiar to any casual. Another arcade close to me has the Raw Thrills "H2Overdrive" which is a direct spin off of Hydro Thunder (go hunt down a cabinet, its worth it). Xbox games A first wave of 40 Xbox games is headed to Windows 8 PCs starting October 26, which is the launch date for Windows 8. Even today I know several arcades locally with cabinets linked up playing LAN (6 units). I am a huge fan of Hydro Thunder, I grew up playing it in the arcades and still play it on Dreamcast, PS2 and PC.
